Journalists Helen Thomas and Maggie Kilgore Headline The Art of Noise Conference on Nov. 10

On November 10, the Art of Noise conference (theartofnoise.biz) will be held in Richmond, VA. The advent of new media such as blogs, podcasts, text messaging and social networks has produced seismic shifts in the way you shop for products, seek entertainment and even perceive the news.

Our sudden access to programming and products outside mainstream channels has created havoc with traditional business models. Itunes is shaking up the music and movie industry. Webcasting channels are becoming viable competition for cable, satellite and traditional broadcast programming. The Web is also challenging established sources of news while blogs question the fidelity of information provided by national news outlets.

With time-shifting products like the iPod and TiVo, we are becoming a culture unfettered by traditional broadcast schedules and traditional packages of 30 minute television shows or 120 minute movies. With Amazon, independent publishers and even self-published authors gain equal footing with large publishers in world distribution of their titles. But does the Web offer similar advantages in promoting their books?

In short, the technology—to market your brand, to broadcast your programming, to publish and promote your products or even to obtain your news—is fast evolving and empowering you with fantastic media opportunities.

So if traditional promotional methods are being abandoned for the Internet and television has effectively lost some of its advertising and journalistic muscle, what will work in today’s media to market your brand? Where should you get your news?

On November 10th WORKMAGAZINE, along with the other conference sponsors, will bring together innovative media, marketing, public relations, communications and publishing professionals to examine the opportunities and new techniques of their disciplines. As the keynote speakers, journalists and authors Helen Thomas and Maggie Kilgore will discuss the changes they have experienced in writing and media over the years.

This is a "Must-Attend" conference for content developers of all media including print, Web and video as well as for those seeking the most effective means to promote their brands through public relations and advertising.

If you are considering a career in media development, publishing, advertising, marketing or public relations, the conference will provided plenty of of opportunities to connect with a variety of innovative companies and present an excellent overview of the new media industry.
