CM Pros Spring 2007 Summit Speaker Line-up Announced

CM Professionals today announced the roster of speakers who will present at the CM Pros Spring 2007 Summit taking place April 13, 2007 at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco, California. This is the fifth CM Pros Summit, the third semi-annual Summit held on the west coast of the US.

Building a business case for CM
"The CM Pros Spring Summit in San Francisco offers insights from industry leaders into the effective management of CM projects," says Joan Laselle, President of Laselle-Ramsay and coordinator for this Summit. "CM professionals attending this Summit will walk away with a panoramic overview of tools, techniques, and best practices for managing CM implementations."

CM Pros member Dan Dube will be the keynote speaker. As Managing Director of US Operations for DocZone, an XML-based CMS used for technical publishing, Dube will discuss ways to ensure that a CMS Implementation is successful through recognition of the roles of people, processes, and technologies.

Executive Director of CM Pros, Scott Abel, comments, "After reviewing the speaker line-up for the CM Pros Spring 2007 Summit, it has been extremely satisfying to see the wide range of talent that will be contributed to the roundtable discussions and the workshops. The speakers come equipped with wide-ranging experiences in content management, speakers such as Ann Rockley of the Rockley Group, Rahel Baillie of Strategy A Consulting Group, Joan Laselle and Tim Bombosch of Laselle-Ramsay, Jim Howard of Crown Peak, and Ariel Sud of Ektron, to name a few."

Each summit has a theme around which practitioners can come together as a community of practice to hone their skills. This year's roundtables and workshops focus on project planning, stakeholder and change management, ROI and success metrics, and collaborative project management technologies. The summit is meant to build on existing experience and competencies, and is suitable for practitioners of all skill levels. Gathering face to face is an important aspect of community-building, as well. Summit coordinator Laselle adds, "Just as important as the Summit program is the opportunity to network with a global community of thought leaders and practitioners in the industry."

The summit runs three tracks of sessions, to provide a range of insights into some of the current issues in the field:
- Managing People covers topics such as "Rapid ramp-up and early discovery of potential change management issues in CM projects" and "Migrating your team to topic-based XML authoring-staffing, training and change management".

- Managing Processes explores issues such as "Step-by-Step: Phases of Planning and Completing a Successful Portal Migration", "How to integrate Web CM, Email Marketing and Analytics to achieve website optimization," and "Building a business case for CM".

- Tools and Best Practices touches on "Beyond the Web - towards a holistic approach to CM information, architecture, business process and technology" and "Beyond schedule and budget - using a balanced scorecard to measure the success of CM projects".
