Hart InterCivic Inc., a leading national provider of technology-based products and solutions to state and local governments, announced today its acquisition of Farragut Systems, a Geographic Information Systems software and services company for local governments.
"This deal is perfect for us and, more importantly, our customers. The capacity of this software honors our heritage as a trusted advisor, bringing government the newest generation of technology," said Gregg Burt, president and CEO of Hart InterCivic. "Hart can now integrate our technology solutions with local governments' GIS systems and applications from many vendors. Using our high-value capabilities, customers will maximize their return on investment for existing technologies, streamline their operations, update and visualize their data in real time, and improve access for the public they serve."
Hart's goal is to merge the two companies' technology and customer knowledge to provide more business solutions, offer enhanced customer support and improve product offerings.
"We are excited because Hart InterCivic provides an opportunity for growth of our customers and products while continuing our strategy of adding value to many types of existing applications and underlying database systems. Farragut has always added functionality for our customers and to our business partners' offerings. Hart sees value in our approach, and we couldn't be more pleased to join their operation," said Mike Wierzbinski, president of Farragut Systems.
Both Hart and Farragut service local governments with Hart focusing on public records and elections and Farragut on land use, taxation, utilities and transportation.
