David Aquilina, Strategic Storyteller, Wins Two Bronze Quill Awards

The International Association of Business Communicators (IABC-Minnesota) Honors Minneapolis-based Freelancer with Awards for Writing and Media Relations

MINNEAPOLIS - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - The International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), Minnesota chapter, has honored David Aquilina, strategic storyteller, with two Bronze Quill Awards. Bronze Quill Awards recognize superior achievement in business communications. Aquilina is the only freelance communications consultant whose work was honored this year by IABC-Minnesota, the fourth largest IABC chapter in North America.

He won an Award of Excellence in the Writing - Interpretive/Expository Article category. His winning entry was a commentary he wrote for HealthPartners, the Minneapolis-based family of non-profit, consumer-governed health care organizations. The article, “Program Links Rewards to Outcomes,” The Quality Indicator (November 2003), highlights HealthPartners’ innovative programs that financially reward health care providers for achieving measurable improvements in quality.

Aquilina’s Award of Merit was for Media Relations in the Private Company category. He won for the media outreach campaign he designed and conducted for StatusOne, an American Healthways company in Westborough, Mass. In six months, he placed six national trade publication articles that emphasize the effectiveness of the company’s program to identify and manage health plan members at greatest risk for incurring high costs.

This year marks the third time that IABC has recognized Aquilina’s achievements in business communications. He previously won Bronze Quill Awards for article writing in 2001 and 2002.
