DHL, the world's leading express and logistics company, recently held its annual employee and salesperson of the year staff recognition event. The winners for 2003 were announced at a ceremony held at the Gulf Hotel in Bahrain.
Out of DHL’s Kingdomwide workforce of 603 employees, 27 staff members were short-listed for these prestigious awards. Sales person of the year was awarded to Hafouf and second industry area territory manager Ramon Regalario, while Employee of the Year Awards went to Abdulaziz Al-Enazi DHL Services Supervisor Riyadh, Khalid Al-Othman DHL shift supervisor at King Fahad Causeway, and Abdul Razak Mathal DHL front disk agent Jeddah Express Centre.
"This event is held annually to highlight DHL’s policy of recognizing exceptional performance,” said Harlis Malkic, Country Manager for DHL Saudi Arabia. “This year’s winners were selected from an impressive list of nominees, all of whom excelled in performing their duties in order to surpass customer expectations.”
The guidelines for selecting the winners are most stringent, but the rewards for the best of the best are exceptional. The four winners travel to Dubai to meet up with the winners from other countries in the Middle East. From there the group will fly on to spend five days in Africa, spending three days at the deluxe Victoria Falls Safari Lodge. Next, the winners travel to Cape Town for two nights, visiting the Cape of Good Hope and taking a cable car ride to the top of the famous Table Mountain. The final night at the hotel will feature the awards ceremony, where each winner will receive $500, a certificate and a gold trophy. In all, only 18 winners from the whole Middle East will be attending the ceremony, and Saudi Arabia has done well to secure four of the top places.
DHL’s success is a result of the performance of all employees. The company invests in people through training programs, effective management practices, and competitive communications.
