Global express and logistics expert DHL and Al Rajhi Banking & Investment Corporation in Saudi Arabia have extended their strategic partnership by awarding DHL the management of Al Rajhi's Head Office mailroom and its 12 regional mailrooms with full responsibility for mail services between more than 425 branches.

Al Rahji first outsourced its intra-city distribution to DHL at the beginning of 2002 and this extension of the scope of the original three year contract is the result of DHL’s outstanding performance in providing a secure, efficient, cost effective, user-friendly service which has reduced transit times between the Bank's regional mailrooms and their local branches considerably. Under the new arrangement DHL has supplied a staff of 31 experienced Saudi operatives who have received special orientation training to integrate into the bank's infrastructure.

“We have made substantial investments to support our agreement with Al Rajhi by adding extra transport vehicles to our fleet and employing a number of Saudi nationals to handle the increase in the volume of our domestic traffic,” said Amer Abu Obeid, DHL Financial Institutions Manager for Saudi Arabia. “This extension of our responsibilities is a much appreciated recognition of DHL’s professional expertise and dedication to customer service, and reinforces our position as the main provider of express and logistics services to the Kingdom’s banks and financial institutions.”
