Organizing Industry Shows Amazing Growth!
The average executive spends an incredible 150 hours per year looking for things and information in their home or office. Americans buy and ultimately throw away 44 million newspapers each day. Approximately 34 pounds of junk mail is sent to every person each year. These are just a few of the reasons why one Atlanta resident is proud to be part of a growing industry that assists people with their organizational challenges.
Atlanta professional organizer Monica Ricci recently attended the 16th Annual NAPO Conference in Chicago. The National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) represents more than 2300 experts who provide organizing solutions for individuals and businesses. Ricci is a member of the NAPO Golden Circle, and immediate past president of the NAPO Georgia chapter.
According to Ricci, "NAPO has experienced an amazing 50% growth in membership over last year." "Our 2004 conference attendance was also up 50% over last year, increasing from 430 attendees in 2003 to an impressive 650 attendees in 2004," continued Ricci. She added, "These numbers indicate that organizing is not just a fad, but a clear and growing trend."
Founded in 1985, NAPO is a not-for-profit professional association whose members include organizing consultants, speakers, trainers, authors and manufacturers of organizing products. "Attending our national conference every year allows me to learn from the most experienced people in my industry," said Ricci." My goal is to constantly gain knowledge and ideas that will assist me in helping my corporate and residential clients in their desire for more organized homes and offices, and with challenges regarding time and space management.”
Chosen by Forbes Magazine in 2003 as one of America's "Organizational Elite", Ricci was a featured presenter at the 2004 NAPO national conference. An accomplished motivational speaker, she moderated "Ask The Organizer", a lively panel discussion, which allowed conference attendees to ask questions of seven of America's most successful organizers. A recent speaker at the 2004 Atlanta Home Show, Ricci will be speaking in Atlanta on May 15 at the "Transform Your Life Now" full-day seminar for women.
Atlanta residents can also "Ask The Organizer" for free, by attending monthly Clutter Club meetings, where Ricci gives back to the Atlanta community by providing expert advice and answering questions about organizing challenges. Information about the Clutter Club, as well as Ricci's teleclasses, motivational speaking, hands-on organizing services, and the ability to sign up for a free informative monthly newsletter, "Simplicity News", are available at www.CatalystOrganizing.com
