Unique Affiliate Marketing Program Creates Opportunity for Groups and Entrepreneurs to Profit
PW Domain Name Registry Auctions Exclusive Sponsorship Rights to 50,000 Second-Level Domains.
Boston, MA November 10, 2004 -- The PW Registry Corporation (www.pwregistry.pw) is auctioning Sponsorship rights for nearly 50,000 second-level (e.g. smith.pw) Internet domains. This list includes popular surnames and first names, countries, cities and states, destination sites and short letter strings. Most of the second level domains selected for this auction represent communities of thousands or even millions of people.
“With an inventory of 100 percent of the world’s surnames, towns, schools and hobbies, the PW Sponsorship Program represents an ideal home-based business with no technical programming required,” says Tom Barrett, President of PW Registry. “And with the availability of 100 percent of the world’s school and sport team’s mascots, a PW Sponsorship can help build fan loyalty and raise money for worthy causes. The only start-up cost is the initial license fee.”

The PW Advantage A PW Community Sponsorship is not a conventional domain name registration. Instead, it grants the exclusive right to market a PW second-level domain. These second-level names in the PW domain are not exclusive to a single owner. They are administered by the PW Registry Corporation and shared among a community of users. This means that PW users can have meaningful domain names and email addresses -- their last names, hometowns, favorite teams, hobbies, anything. Sponsors market third-level addresses based on these second-level domains (for example, e-mail protected from spam bots and eric.soxfan.pw) for use as URLs for personal Web pages and email addresses.
The Community Sponsorship program applies the principles of affiliate marketing, widely used by Web-based retailers such as Amazon.com: affiliates deliver shoppers to the retailer's set and in turn are paid a commission on those shoppers' purchases. The exclusivity of the PW program is a major enhancement. Only one Community Sponsor is accepted for each PW second-level domain name. While typical Internet affiliate programs have hundreds or even thousands of affiliates all competing for the same revenue stream, a PW Sponsor is paid a commission on every sale in the sponsored domain, no matter where the sale comes from.
PW Registry also offers services specially designed to protect the rights of trademark owners and businesses: PW Defensive Sponsorships, which block the resale of PW email addresses and domain names for a specified PW Domain, and PW IP Claims, an annual trademark watching service. Both are available through PW accredited registrars. (visit http://www.pwregistry.pw for more information.)
About PW Registry Corporation As the public trustee of the PW domain, PW Registry Corporation is responsible for ensuring that the management and administration of the PW top-level domain, the Internet's first domain extension devoted to "Communities of Shared Interest," is in the public interest. The idea that I would have exclusive rights for my family name or be able to raise some money for our local PeeWee league is appealing. What does everyone else think?
