Health Force Awarded Health Care Staffing Services Certification by Joint Commission

Health Force, a nationwide nursing and allied healthcare staffing firm, today announced that it has been awarded a Health Care Staffing Services (HCSS) Certification from the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO). The certification was awarded to Health Force after an independent, comprehensive evaluation determined Health Force met JCAHO’s high standards of leadership, human resource management, performance management and improvement and information management.

“The certification is a validation of our business, as well as an endorsement of our staff and the healthcare professionals that we send to our hospital partners,” said Kenneth A. Wead, President of Health Force. “Staffing services have not always received positive marks from healthcare organizations; much of it self-inflicted, caused by staffing agencies that disregard professional ethics and standards. Receiving the HCSS certification distinguishes Health Force apart from those organizations and positions us as an industry leader. The certification also helps assure our hospital clients that we are as committed to meeting the professional standards of JCAHO’s accreditation programs as they are. We are advocates for raising the bar for staffing agencies, and appreciate being recognized by JCAHO for our efforts.”

Developed in October 2004, JCAHO’s certification program offers a complete evaluation of a staffing firm’s ability to provide competent staffing services. The program was started due to the shortage of nurses and the need for healthcare organizations to fill those positions, oftentimes with temporary employees from staffing agencies. The standards were developed by a Customer Advisory Council composed of representatives from health care staffing firms, as well as a Standards Task Force composed of industry recipients, providers and other stakeholders.

Mr. Wead added, “At Health Force, we believe that professional ethics are at the core of our work, and we have an obligation to consistently articulate our values, business practices, and ethical principles through our employees, day-to-day practices, and relationships with our clients. JCAHO’s recognition helps to validate our commitment. Our travelers now know that they are being represented by a company that consistently works to align its practices with the industry-wide commitment to professional standards and ethics.”
